Small tree white flowers Texas

Cordia boissieri – White

If you have a small yard, or like many Houstonians most of your yard is taken up by your swimming pool, you need to keep your landscaping small. This doesn't mean, however, that your landscaping needs to be boring, or restricted to a few small plants and flowers. There are plenty of trees that are perfect for small landscapes in Houston, Texas, yet are still beautiful and interesting. If you need to create a garden that is suitable for small spaces, use some of the trees below.

Dwarf Blood Leaf Banana. This highly ornamental tree is perfect for small landscapes in Houston, Texas. It has orange-yellow and red flowers that will bloom all spring, summer and fall, and its glossy green-burgundy leaves are pretty, too. Plant this tree in full sun to partial shade, and it will grow no taller than eight feet, the perfect height for small landscapes.

Brazilian Orchid Tree. Another highly ornamental tree, its huge white flowers will attract butterflies to your Houston, Texas garden. This hardy tree does well in full or partial sun, or bright shade, and is a great accent tree for small landscapes. It blooms in the spring and summer, and will grow to be about 20 feet high.

Purple Orchid Tree. The pretty pink and purple blooms on this tree will also bring butterflies to your Houston, Texas garden. Plant in full to partial sun and it will bloom from late winter through the spring, perfect for bringing year round color to small landscapes. This hardy tree has pretty leaves, and will grow to be between 20 and 30 feet tall.

Crape Myrtle. This pretty tree will provide a nice canopy of leaves for Houston, Texas landscapes. Plant in full sun and its purple flowers will bloom from May through September. A fast growing tree that can reach heights up to 20 feet, it is disease resistant and drought tolerant. Birds love this tree, and it has gorgeous fall foliage. A great choice for small landscapes.
