Tree small white flowers four petals

I am trying to find out what this flower is. It grew on our fence last summer, is a vine that dies at frost, has masses of tiny white flowers with pointed petals and is very fragrant, and then forms green fat pods that contain seeds like milkweeds. We live in Zone 7 and have dense red clay soil.

Wondering in Maryland

The flowers look right, but the write up on Clematis recta says the seeds are bare. This plant had smooth green seed pods, four to six inches long, with seeds inside arranged like those in milkweed pods. If I had known of this fragrant vine, I would have planted it on purpose. Thank you for letting me know about the Clematis recta.

Try this link. Honeyvine Milkweed. Very fragrant. Hate the vine but love the smell!
